Boys Basketball: No. 14 Penn pulls away from South Bend Adams

Sophomore All-State candidate Caleb Coolman scored 20 points and Lucas Obermeyer scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power No. 14 (Class 4-A) Penn to a 66-52 victory against visiting South Bend Adams on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.

Coolman, a 6-foot-5 point guard, also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Obermeyer, a Senior Wing, also had three steals to go with his double-double.

Makale Price, a 6-foot-8 Junior, scored 12 points.

Cody Evans contributed 10 points and six rebounds to the Kingsmen victory.

Freshman point guard Mi’Kell Burton made two critical steals in the final minutes to help Penn pull away. Burton finished with seven points.

Penn is 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the Northern Indiana Conference. Adams is 10-4 and 1-2.

PENN 66: Mi’Kell Burton 7, Ben Murphy 0, Caleb Martinez 0, Caleb Coolman 20, Lucas Obermeyer 15, Cody Evans 10, Christian Bonner 2, Makale Price 12.
