Boys Basketball: Andrew Laird selected to Silver Anniversary Team by the Indiana Hall of Fame

Former Penn Boys Basketball Star Andrew Laird, who led the Kingsmen to the Class 4-A 2001 State Championship Game, has been named to the 2026 Men’s Silver Anniversary Team by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Laird averaged 16.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals as a senior for a 23-3 State Runner-up Kingsmen. The 6-foot-6 Laird is sixth on the all-time Kingsmen career scoring list (1,150 points).

Laird also had 363 rebounds, 205 assists and 127 steals in three season on the Varsity.

After starting out at Saint Joseph’s College, Laird played at Bethel College and was named an NAIA Academic All-American. He averaged 10.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and was on an NCCAA national runner-up team for The Pilots.
