Jacob Parker, an experienced high school and basketball coach, has joined the Penn Boys’ Basketball coaching staff He is the new Junior Varsity Head Coach.
Parker was a phenomenal basketball player in high school playing at Portage High School, where he broke multiple school and state records. He scored 46 points in a Sectional Game. He is fourth on the all-time scoring list at Portage. After high school, Parker played at Bethel for Coach Mike Lightfoot from 2001-2006 (medical red-shirt due to a knee surgery). From Bethel, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Education and Sports Management. Parker’s coaching career includes stops at the Indiana State Warriors and Calumet College of St. Joseph.
Head Coach Coolman is excited to have Coach Parker join the Penn Basketball coaching staff.
“Coach Parker will be a great addition to the Penn boys basketball program,” Coach Coolman said. “He will be the head JV coach for us and he has a lot of coaching experience and was a great basketball player in his day. His positive attitude and energy will make a big impact on the young men that he coaches. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Parker is excited to accomplish great things at Penn.
