Trey Miller scored 19 points as the Penn Kingsmen sprinted past South Bend Clay, 73-53, in the Northern Indiana Conference high school boys basketball opener for Penn.
The Kingsmen (2-0) play at Crown Point on Saturday, Dec. 2. Clay is 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the NIC.
Miller hurt the Colonials with two deep 3’s and also slashed inside for five more hoops. He helped trigger a 15-2 Kingsmen run that gave Penn the upperhand.
Ethan Good and Alexander Hawthorne scored 10 points each.
Maverick Brown muscled inside for nine points.
Freshman Peyton Miamba scored eight points, and Dominic Bonner contributed six points.
Penn connected on a torrid 19-of-33 shots for 58 percent field-goal shooting.
