Penn dominated LaPorte 16-2 in the 2025 season opener on Tuesday, April 1.
The Kingsmen pounded out 14 hits, led by River Pecina with three hits. Pecina belted two doubles and a triple, driving in six runs.
To lock down the Slicers’ offense Dawson French pitched three innings and Kyler Kaczmarski tossed two no-hit innings to close. French and Kaczmarski combined for four strikeouts.
Will Barnes and Brayden Plummer were each 2-of-3 hitting with a double, and Mason Braun went 1-of-3 with a triple.
Brayden Plummer, Mason Braun, Bennett Hartford, and Gavin Taylor supplied run support, each driving in two runs.
