The Penn Baseball Team continued its dominant start to the 2025 season with a sweep at Carmel on Saturday, April 12. The Kingsmen beat the perennial power Greyhounds 8-4 in game one and 8-1 in game two.
Game one starting pitcher Cayden Stockbridge had an impressive day. Stockbridge pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Harrison Haq came in to close with a strikeout to secure the win.
At the plate, Penn collected eight hits, led by Mason Braun going 3-of-4 with a double, and Brayden Plummer going 2-of-4 with a double and an RBI. Bennett Hartford stayed hot with a 2-of-3 performance and an RBI. Dawson French also chipped in with a 1-of-3 day including a double and an RBI.
Game two featured a strong pitching performance from Kyler Kaczmarski, who tossed a complete seven-inning game, allowing one run on just one hit, with six strikeouts.
The offense stayed alive with nine hits. Mason Braun went 2-of-4 with a two-run home run and a double. Will Barnes had a 2-of-3 day with a double and an RBI. Dawson French and Dalton Zultanski each went 1-of-3 with doubles, while Bennett Hartford and Gavin Taylor each supplied an RBI.
