Getting to know: Mariano Retzloff

Mariano Retzloff is a Sectional and Regional Cross Country and Track championship runner for the Penn Kingsmen. He is a Junior.

How many miles do you run a day?: Six miles, six days of the week. Then, on the seventh day, I run 9 miles.

Why did you choose Cross Country?: I chose Cross Country because I love to race and to also compete.

What is your current biggest achievement that you want to achieve?: We want to get top 5 in the state as a team this year.

What college do you want to attend?: I want to run at Indiana University in Bloomington.

How can you help your teammates get better?: I help my teammates get better by pushing them in practice and in races.

How many hours of sleep do you get?: I get around 7-8 hours of sleep per night and usually 9 before races.

How do you overcome mistakes?: I overcome mistakes by assessing what went wrong and what I can do to fix it.

Who is your biggest supporter?: My biggest supporters are my parents and my grandma.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of running?: My favorite thing to do outside of running is hanging out with my friends.

What’s your favorite song to sing in the shower?: If I am being honest, I don’t really sing in the shower!!!!!
