Boys XC: Good Showing at New Prairie Invitational

The Penn Boys Cross Country participated in three different races in the biggest high school event in the state of Indiana, the New Prairie Invitational. 

The Varsity Team placed 4th out 29 teams in the prestigious AAA race. Franklin Central won with a score of 67, Valparaiso came in 2nd with a score of 101, Chesterton came in 3rd with a score of 126, and the Kingsmen came in 4th with a score of 164. 

On one of the most difficult courses in the states and in the heat, many Kingsmen stood out.

 

Nick Probst (Sr) came in 20th with a time of 16:57.

Hudson Kaser (Jr) came in 21st right behind Probst with a time of 16:58.

Will Mickelson (Jr)  came in 33rd and ran a 17:11.

Matt Givens (So) came in 35th and ran the course in 17:13.

Jack Ryan (So) finished in 62nd and ran a 17:38.

 

The Freshmen and Sophomore raced in a separate race with the exception of star runners Jack Ryan and Matt Givens.

Northridge won the race with a score of 19, Lake Central came in 2nd with a score of 65, and Penn finished 3rd out of the total 19 teams with a score of 101. 

 

Kush Grewel (Fr) placed 12th with a time of 18:17.

Tyler Rerick (So) placed 17th with a time of 18:29.

Noah Koroscil (So) placed 26th with a time of 19:05.7. 

Ben Reihl (So) placed 27th, a hair behind Koroscil with a time of 19:05.9.

Gavin Belzowski (Fr) placed 36th with a time of 19:20.

 

Senior runner, Nate Pratt, turned heads on Saturday as he won the JV Race and led the Kingsmen to a third place finish in the race.

 

Crown Point won with a score of 43, Lake Central came in 2nd with a score of 68, and Penn came in third with a score of 90.

 

Nate Pratt (Sr) won the JV race with a time of 18:17.

Brayden Mamolenti (Sr) placed 7th with a time of 18:55.

Brett Spriggs (Fr) placed 27th with a time of 19:43.

Luke Petras (Fr) placed 33rd with a time of 19:55.

Oliver Dvorak (So) placed 41st with a time of 20:18.

 

The Kingsmen are back in action next weekend at Huntington University.
