Penn Girls Basketball: Season Overview

As the lady Kingsmen are a little under half through their season they have shown great chemistry on the court as a team.

Their current ranking is 8-4, ranked 58th in state and 6th in South Bend. The Kingsmen have faced tough competition so early in the season and have shown great perseverance during some games.

Penn Senior Jessa Troy is leading in Points Per Game (ppg), averaging 12.1 and being the lead assister.

Freshman Addie Hummel leads the team in rebounds and field goal percentage.

This team is stacked in every grade, with talent from multiple players.

Penn Junior Anna Sachire states, “ I feel like we have really grown to trust each other and we’re meshing together really well. We are all close outside of basketball, too, and I think that’s definitely helped us grow as a team”

This team has shown great strengths this year, one being defense.

“One strength our team has really shown on the court this year is our focus on defense. We’ve worked hard to stay disciplined, communicate effectively, and control the aspects of the game we can which has helped us every game,” Junior Macy Little said.

As the season continues, the Lady Kingsmen are aiming to secure a sectional title. The last title was won in the 2021-2023 season
