What is the most important lesson that you have learned playing volleyball?

I would say the most important lesson that volleyball has taught me is that attitude is everything, and that it can make or break a team.

Who is a volleyball player that you look up to & why?

I look up to Chloe Chicoine the most. Although she is short, she has such a good vertical and plays with so much fire. It’s so refreshing to see an undersized outside like myself compete at such a high level.

What are your personal goals and team goals before the end of your sophomore season?

I want to be able to keep learning and growing as a player. I also would like to help lead this time to a Regional title. Coming off of a tough loss last year in the sectional I feel like this team has so much to prove, and so much motivation to make it out of sectionals.

How do you look to stay calm in high-pressure situations in games?
During high-pressure situations, I try to not think about the score, and to stay confident and aggressive in my playing, and to continue to stay confident in my teammates.

What is one of your favorite memories about Penn Volleyball?

At a tournament my freshman year on JV on our break the whole team did karaoke danced, and just hyped each other up for the championship game later that day.

What do you love about your sport and why?

I love the energy you get from the game and the bonds you form from playing with girls from different schools all over the area. I still talk to, and catch up with many of the girls from my previous club teams in the offseason.

What are your pre-game rituals typically?

I like to listen to music and really visualize what I will do today in the game to help contribute to an all-around team win.

What do you think sets volleyball apart from the other sports here?

The family. I feel like all 15 girls are some of my best friends.

What is your advice to incoming freshmen on coming into a prestigious volleyball program like Penn?

My advice for those freshmen would be to always be competitive and never shy away from challenges. Also, to bring energy because that can set you apart from others especially when trying out.

What do you look for most in a leader or captain on the court?

I most look for the advice they bring, the will to always want to win, and the determination to want to get better as a team.
