What is the most important lesson you have learned through athletics?: “I would say the most important lesson that I learned from playing a sport is time management. Playing a sport and managing school or a job is hard to do but it has shown me I have to work hard and not set things behind.”
Do you have any pre-game rituals? If yes, what are they?: “I almost always have some kind of braid in my hair or if I do well the day before I repeat that hairstyle. I also have a routine I do when hitting off the tee to get me ready for my games.”
Who is a player (at any level) you look up to, and why?: “I always looked up to my aunt. She played D1 softball and when I was younger she always taught me how to play softball.”
What are some traits you love in a team leader?: “We over me. That was our saying this year for Penn. To be a team leader you need to think positively and step up on the field. If someone’s head goes down, that leader helps, picks them up, and gets their head back into the game.”
Where do you see yourself after high school?: “I plan on attending a small college and hopefully fulfilling my dreams of playing to the next level.”
How does the team celebrate a win?: “It just depends. Some people just go home, some go to dinner.”
Who is someone you always look for in the crowd, why is it them you look for?: “I always look for my mom. I have always been close to my mom and always looked up to her. She is always making me happy. She puts in so much effort to make me happy and always drives me to softball.”
If you could be in any sports-related movie which one would it be and why would you want to be in that one?: “That’s a good question. Maybe the “Sandlot”, because they are young kids who loved the game. To be young again and playing the sport just for fun and not to be recruited was so much fun.”
Do you think your life would be any different if you had not decided to participate in softball?: “Yes, my life would be 100 percent different because I feel like I would just go home and lay in bed every day. Having a sport keeps me in shape, and active, and gives me good time management skills.”
