Caroline Ball is a member of the Penn Girls Swim/Dive Team. She is a Northern Indiana Conference Champion.
What originally got you interested in swimming?: “Both of my parents were swimmers, so my siblings and I were automatically put into the sport!”
What do you love about your sport?: “I love all of my friends, working hard, and the opportunities I have gotten.”
What are your plans for after high school?: Are you planning on pursuing a specific college/trade?: “I plan on studying business, and I’m not sure where yet.”
What advice would you give to a freshman about Penn Athletics?: “Try anything you think you might be interested in, Penn is a really big school and you’re going to want to find a fun community that you enjoy being involved in.”
If you were to play a different sport, what sport would you play and why?: “Soccer! I was a soccer player until I had to decide between that and swimming. I also ran track and cross country so I’d probably do that too.”
What have you accomplished that makes you the most proud?: “I qualified for a national meet (TYR Futures Championships) in my main events.”
What do you love about representing Penn High School?: “The community; everyone knows that Penn’s student-athletes are good and hard-working people, and it is really fun to get to be a part of that.”
Who has had the biggest impact on your life and why?: “I would have to say my parents because they are the people that help me do anything and everything.”
If you had to start from scratch, what would you do differently?: “I’d honestly change my study habits early on. Swimming is one of those sports where you are never home. I am always at school or practice. That has made home become only a place of relaxation and unwinding from the day instead of study.”
What are your favorite foods/drinks?: “My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs or steak and mushrooms. My favorite fun drink is a Shirley Temple!”
