Penn opens State Tournament against St. Joseph
Defending state Champion Penn opens the 2026 State Tournament against South Bend St. Joseph in the first round of the Penn Sectional.

Penn plays against South Bend Saint Joseph at approximately 8:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Sept. 30. The tournament begins on Wednesday night with South Bend Washington facing New Prairie at 7 p.m. ET.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, South Bend Riley plays South Bend Adams at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Marian received a first-round bye and will play the Washington-New Prairie winner in semifinal action at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Penn-Saint Joseph winner will face the Riley-Adams winner in the other semifinal at approximately 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday.
The sectional championship is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Saturday, Oct. 3.
Tickets are $7 per session, with preschool children admitted free when seated with an adult. Gates open 30 minutes before the first game each day.
The Sectional 4 champion advances to Regional 1 at Michigan City, where it will face the Michigan City Sectional champion.
