Penn Boys Track & Field Season Outlook

The Penn Boys Track & Field team is in the midst of an action-packed season, facing a schedule filled with challenges and opportunities against top-ranked teams.

Kicking off on March 8 at Purdue University, the squad dove into individual events, setting the tone for a competitive year with many personal best performances and room for improvement.

The excitement continued with a home meet against Mishawaka High School on March 19, which the Kingsmen won the “Backyard Brawl” 111-21.

The Kingsmen followed this by an away contest, including a pivotal matchup against top ranked Northern Lakes Conference team Concord on March 27, in which they won 81-51.

As the season progresses, the team will participate in prestigious events like the Mishawaka Invite on April 18, Carmel Distance Showcase on April 25th, and Max Truex Invite on May 2, where they will compete against some of the best teams in the state.

“We are excited to race these invites. These are the invites that prepare us for those high pressure situations, and prepare us to race our best against top teams,” Said Kale Grewal, the Junior 3200M runner.

His twin brother, Kush, agrees, “We are excited to showcase everything we have worked for in the offseason, and just compete against each other and others”.

Highlighting their home turf, the Penn High School Everwise Freed Field will host several meets, including the JV Invite on April 25 and the Sectional on May 22.
