Banks Asleson is a Sophomore quarterback on the Penn Football Team.
What made you want to start playing football?: I got my love for football when I was about eight years old. I grew up watching Notre Dame football, and I found my love for the game just by watching them every Saturday.
What do you enjoy most about playing quarterback?: I enjoy getting to be a leader and being someone my teammates can rely on.
Who is your biggest football inspiration?: Watching Ian Book was truly something special. He is one of the quarterbacks who inspired me the most.
What is your favorite memory from playing football?: One of my favorite memories would be beating St. Joe’s freshman team last year, as we worked hard and prepared for that game a lot.
What is the hardest part about being a quarterback?: The mental aspect of knowing everyone’s role and reading coverages is the hardest part.
What is your favorite team to watch and why?: My favorite football team to watch would be Notre Dame. I grew up watching them and just love the tradition.
What is one thing you’ve improved on the most this season?: I feel like my accuracy and overall mechanics have improved the most this season.
What is your favorite play or type of play to run?: I love throwing to one of our seam concepts.
What are your goals for the rest of this season?: One of our team’s goals is to win state, but personally, I would like to help our JV team finish with an undefeated record while throwing no interceptions.
What are your goals for football after high school?: I plan to play college football and major in business or sports management.
