Boys Basketball: Penn opens strong at Clay

Notre Dame signee Markus Burton scored 33 points and No. 3-ranked Penn blasted past South Bend Clay, 92-58, in the Boys Basketball season opener for the Kingsmen. Clay won its first two games of the season before running into a high-octane Kingsmen attack.

Burton, a 6-foot-1 point guard, connected on 16-of-28 field-goal attempts, threw down three electrifying dunks.
Joey Garwood, a 6-foot-3 Senior Wing, connected for a career-high 22 points.
Joe Smith and Dylan Derda scored nine points each.
Penn committed seven turnovers while forcing 24, and outscored Clay 32-4 in points off of turnovers.
