Olympic Gold Medalist and former Penn wrestling star Sarah Hildebrandt recently competed in the Real American Freestyle 01 (RAF) on August 30th, 2025. During the event, Hildebrandt defeated Zeltzin Hernandez 11-0 to claim the title of first Real American Freestyle Women’s Strawweight Champion. Penn High School’s Olympic Champion showcased an enormous amount of skill, recrowning herself as the face of women’s wrestling.
Head Coach Brad Harper, who has been an extremely powerful card in Sarah’s deck over the years, demonstrated an enormous amount of excitement for Sarah and her achievement.
“When we say ‘be Sarah,’ that’s her saying relax, her strong mindset, but having fun as well. That’s very important for her to keep it lighthearted and have fun,” stated Harper. He reiterated that the path to victory is very difficult, but with his extreme mindset and Sarah’s unwavering commitment and dedication, they were able to get the job done that Saturday night.
With this new championship belt added to her collection, it’s safe to say that she solidified her legacy as a feared opponent in women’s wrestling. Hildebrandt often reflects on the importance of focusing on mental health during difficult wrestling journeys.
“You’ve got to put it all on the line,” said Hildebrandt.

Her newly found victory at the RAF 01 is a testament to her incredible dedication and work into the art of wrestling.
